Mental Health America of Northeast Indiana would love to have your help! Please consider volunteering at our organization. Even a couple of hours can make a difference. Individuals, groups, businesses, and families are encouraged to volunteer.

Our ongoing needs are:

  • Guardianship advocates
  • Cedars Hope support and educational activities (computer, cooking, nutrition, self-care)
  • Board of Directors, committees, and staff projects
  • Marketing and special events
  • Office/Administrative
  • Seasonal Projects (painting, handyman, lawn care & gardening, housekeeping, and meal preparing)

Minors are welcome to volunteer with an accompanying adult. Must be 18 years or older to complete the application and orientation process. MHANI will provide complete training to any volunteers and fulfill a supportive role for all guardianship advocates.

All you have to do is care, and we will teach you the rest.

If you are interested in becoming a guardianship advocate, please visit our Adult Guardianship Services page for more information regarding what that service entails. In general, as a guardianship advocate, you will assist in making life decisions for an at-risk adult. These decisions might involve the medical, social service, and legal needs of your client.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor in our Peer and Family Support program, please visit our Peer Support Services page to learn about ways to get involved. This program aims to empower consumers and family members to support one another. This can be done in several different ways to meet the different needs of each individual.

Please take a moment to fill out this online form so we know when and how you would like to volunteer or call our office at (260) 422-6441.

If you are applying for a volunteer position for Volunteer Advocate (Guardianship), you will need to provide a copy of your driver’s license and proof of insurance at the time of the interview. Your ID will be checked and/or copied upon volunteer orientation.
