Mental health is just as important as physical health, but too often, individuals ignore symptoms of mental health issues. If you’re experiencing chest pains, you visit a doctor. But if someone is experiencing something less tangible, like suicidal thoughts or hearing voices, they may not be very likely to visit a doctor, either out of embarrassment, shame, or other feelings caused by stigma.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as changes in sleeping patterns or energy levels; often feeling sad, worthless, and/or hopeless; loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy; or frequent thoughts of death or suicide, please make use of these free screenings from Mental Health America. You can then take the results to a doctor, along with a description of your symptoms, in order to get the treatment you need.
